setup for failure = setup for success

I am a sincere believer in the idea that miscommunication and mistakes are evidence that you are doing something. Especially when you are doing both. Doing something right is highly unlikely. Thus doing something wrong is almost usually guaranteed. If you don't do anything at all, in the short term you win because you do nothing wrong. Which immediately looks better as compared to the person that's messing up all the time because they're trying to get something done for the first time.

"Consider in one day, the sequence of events to occur in the following pattern. Complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, complexity, simplicity. Simplicity becomes salvation.

There is no way to connect with simplicity when how complexity feels has been forgotten."

about~

nautical is nice is a sort of metaphor for working to create a seaworthy sustainable creative life.

this blog is like a visit to my studio, illustrating ideas i'm working through and work in progress along with the everyday crafty and occasional note of that which inspires. i have begun posting finished and long-term projects to the 'gallery' linked-to above.
